Wet Vinyl Install

At tvd vinyl decals we evaluate both installation methods on all of our decals to determine and recommend the best method for our customers to use.

Wet vinyl install.

Small vinyl lettering and decals should be installed dry. Get the surface and vinyl adhesive wet. Remove the liner on one side. Wet vinyl installation instructions.

Just a little bit of dish soap in water is all you need to help install without bubbles. Adhesion the vinyl sticking before you want it to. The wet application method applies a vinyl graphic to a substrate by using a fluid to assist with positioning. Using the wet method is the best way to install a large vehicle decal or graphic to ensure a smooth bubble free finish.

Tape vertically in the middle to create a hinge. Those who are still learning need the flexibility that wetting solutions can offer. The dry method as its name indicates does not use fluid but rather depends on the skill of the installer to correctly position the film. Nevertheless for most vinyl installations you should not apply the graphics wet especially if you can do a dry application.
